Medical Properties Trust Pays $1.25 Billion for Nine Steward Health Care System Hospitals Across Greater Boston

Medical Properties Trust (NYSE: MPW), a Birmingham, AL-based self-advised real estate investment trust, acquired a portfolio of nine acute care hospitals located throughout greater Boston from Steward Health Care System in a sale leaseback for $1.25 billion, or about $660 per square foot.
