AGC MA Appoints Michelle Dardeno as New Financial Controller.

BOSTON, MA— The Associated General Contractors of Massachusetts (AGC MA) has announced the hiring of Michelle Dardeno as its new Financial Controller, bringing a seasoned financial leader with deep experience in organized labor, workforce development, and nonprofit accounting into the state’s leading construction industry association.

Dardeno joins AGC MA from the Massachusetts AFL-CIO, where she served as Comptroller, managing the accounting and administrative operations for six affiliated entities. During her tenure, she played a key role in the success of numerous organizational initiatives, including political, legislative, and climate programs, while also ensuring consistent financial compliance and audit readiness.
“I first began working as a bookkeeper for an architectural woodworker while attending Lasell College,” said Dardeno. “I knew then that I had found the work that I loved doing. It’s satisfying to come full circle and return to working in the trades.”

At the AFL-CIO, Dardeno spearheaded improvements to financial systems and helped guide the organization through several successful audits and reporting cycles. Her focus on streamlining processes and ensuring accountability made her a key player behind the scenes of the labor movement in Massachusetts.AGC MA CEO John Ferrante praised the appointment, stating, “After an extensive search, we are very pleased to have Michelle join our team. AGC MA is in great shape financially, and Michelle’s leadership will help us take it to the next level.”

Dardeno’s appointment comes at a time when AGC MA continues to expand its support for the commercial construction industry through advocacy, education, and workforce initiatives. Her financial expertise and experience working within mission-driven organizations are expected to strengthen AGC MA’s operational foundation as it continues to champion Massachusetts builders.
AGC MA represents over 200 members in the state’s construction sector and is a leading voice in shaping public policy, labor relations, and professional development within the industry.
